About OLSC Des Moines

Our Beginnings

Our Des Moines-based Liverpool supporters club started out as a group of fans meeting at The Royal Mile in Downtown Des Moines for matches in 2017. After a brief period of learning about Liverpool FC and organizing the club, OLSC Des Moines became an Official Liverpool Supporters Club in 2019. Our first club president, Ben Bergmann, helped draft our organization's bylaws and regulations and made our first application to Liverpool a success.

The global pandemic of 2020 made it difficult for the club to physically get together, but OLSC Des Moines stayed strong. Brian Travers, our second president, took the reins in 2021 as both our local group and Liverpool clubs around the world exploded in popularity. Björn Carlson became the third president in 2023.

OLSC Des Moines sends many fans to Anfield every year. We are recognized not just within the United States, but internationally as one of the premier OLSCs due to our high levels of activity, large member base, and constant positivity.

Where We Are Today

OLSC Des Moines has grown to be one of the largest fan clubs in the Midwest. With over 700 followers on Facebook and hundreds of registered members, we continually demonstrate our club's strength and standing to Liverpool FC.

Our primary goal is to always provide a safe and welcoming place for Liverpool fans (and supporters of other clubs) to watch matches. Everyone is welcome at our watch parties. If you would like to learn more about our events, please join us at an upcoming match or shoot us a message.

We also aim to improve our community through acts of volunteering and donations. Every year OLSC Des Moines selects a local non-profit organization to support - we run charity raffles throughout the season and sell merchandise to collect money. We also are always on the lookout for opportunities to donate our time toward the betterment of our local Central Iowa communities.
